John P. Layh, PhD.

Dr. Jack Layh is the owner and Clinical Director of our practice.  He has four daughters and an abundance of grandchildren he loves to spend time with. He has lived in Yellow Springs for over 45 years.  He received his doctorate from Ohio University and has worked in various inpatient and outpatient settings in both the private and public sector. He works with adults and adolescents. His special areas of interest include chemical dependency and the effects of other health-related issues on mental health.

Lincoln Castricone, Ph.D.

Lincoln worked in the mental health industry for over thirty years before joining Layh & Associates in 2017. After earning his Doctorate from [college], he worked for the California Department of Corrections, and is currently also with the Prospect House in Cincinnati, where indigent men in Cincinnati receive residential treatment. Lincoln has also been an avid photographer for the past fifteen years, primarily using infrared photography, and has been featured in fine arts galleries across the country. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his four children and five grandchildren.

Casey Kelliher, Psy.D.

Dr. Kelliher has performed forensic evaluations of adults and of juveniles for courts, attorneys, and agencies for over 20 years, in cases involving family matters (custody, visitation, Children Services), legal competence, and fitness-for-duty, as well as non-forensic evaluations regarding ADHD, intelligence testing, substance abuse, and general psychological functioning. He seeks to understand the individual’s own viewpoint, and provides an objective and unbiased evaluation report regardless of the source of payment. Dr. Kelliher’s earlier work experience included a paper route, fast food, three years on river boats on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers (as a deckhand, a tankerman, and finally as second mate before returning to school), and three years as line staff in inpatient psychiatric units.

Melissa Layman-Guadalupe, Ph.D.

Dr. Melissa Guadalupe received her doctorate from Ohio University and has provided services for children, adolescents, and families at our practice for more than 20 years.  Her particular focus is trauma and abuse issues but she enjoys helping children with all difficulties.  She teaches at the University of Dayton and conducts research about self-disclosure and social media.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons.

Kathryn LeVesconte, PsyD.

​Dr. Kate LeVesconte is a clinical psychologist with 20+ years experience in clinical and supervisory environments.  Special interests include solution-focused systems approaches, family and couple psychotherapy, child and adolescent psychotherapy, trauma and attachment, clinical supervision, and women’s issues. She has been affiliated with Layh and Associates since 1989.  In addition, she has worked at Greene Memorial Hospital, TCN Behavioral Services, and Oesterlen Services for Youth. Kate holds a Psychology Doctorate from the Wright State School of Professional Psychology.  She has 2 grown sons, has lived in Yellow Springs for more than 25 years, and is an avid biker, swimmer, and bridge aficionado.

Martha Rogers, Ph.D.

Dr. Martha Rogers received her doctorate at the Fielding Graduate University and has worked as a therapist for 35 years in private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment settings, in nursing homes, and in a college counseling center. She also has ten years experience as an elementary school teacher. She works with adults, adolescents, couples and families. She has two adult children and eleven grandchildren, both “belly button” and “chosen.” She has many interests including singing in the World House Choir, gardening, nature investigations, meditation, dog rescue, hiking, and learning to speak Spanish.

Judith Skillings, PsyD.

Dr. Judy Skillings has worked at Layh & Associates since 2008. Judy has lived in Yellow Springs for most of her adult life, with the exception of about a decade she spent in New England while raising her son, who is now thriving in Vermont.  She received her doctorate from Wright State University in 1986 and has worked in various settings, including both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, as well as providing consultation to various schools. Her areas of interest include assessment and multicultural issues in mental health.

Rubin Battino, LPCC

Rubin is a licensed counselor who specializes in very brief therapy, hypnotherapy, and guided imagery. He is a professor emeritus of chemistry from Wright State University and spent twenty-six years travelling as a visiting professor all around the world. He earned his Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University in 1978, and has been [???] ever since.

Jack Campbell, MRC, LICDC-CS

Since 1982, Jack’s career has included a variety of settings and multiple venues including extensive practice with EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counseling.  Most specifically, he has spent over three decades working in the field of chemical dependency, providing both inpatient and outpatient treatment. For several years, Jack also served as director of an inpatient chemical dependency family program.  He has facilitated, lectured, and led numerous workshops and training programs.  He enjoys the beauty and diversity of Greene County, where he resides with his wife and several four-legged children.

Elizabeth Goodall, LPCC

Elizabeth has been working in the mental health field for over four years. Her focus for treatment is compassionate, strength-based, and goal-oriented while creating a positive and fun environment for personal growth. Elizabeth enjoys working with all ages from 8 and up. Her special focus areas for treatment interventions are mindfulness exercises, including knowledge of yoga practices, CBT to focus on reality-based thinking processes, and increasing positivity. Elizabeth has participated in extensive training for DBT and has utilized these principles with both teenagers and adults. The majority of her work experience revolves around issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, borderline personality traits, self-harm, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, family therapy, and group counseling.

Mark Greenberg, LISW-S

Mark Greenberg has been married for 22 years and has been blessed with two wonderful children. He has lived in Springfield for the last 16 years after relocating from North Carolina to be closer to family. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and is a licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory status. Mark has experience in a broad range of settings including inpatient, outpatient, community and academic organizations. Mark enjoys working with adults but specializes in child, adolescent and family related issues which include ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, anger management, abuse & trauma, life transitions, social & behavioral problems, parent-child relationships, parenting issues, and conflict resolution.

Bruce Heckman, PhD., M.Div., LPCC

Bruce has been working with Layh & Associates since 1988. In addition to providing individual, group, and couples therapy, he has mediated disputes in a variety of settings. He provided mental health and vocational counseling in college and university counseling centers, and served for many years as clinical director and administrator of nonprofit addiction treatment programs. He also served at the Supreme Court of Ohio as manager of dispute resolution programs in Ohio courts. His areas of particular expertise include treatment of chemical and sexual addictions, trauma- and stress-related disorders, other anxiety and mood disorders, and pastoral counseling, and couples counseling.

Jennifer Hudson, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS

Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and after spending seven years raising her family, earned her MS in Counseling with a focus in Marriage and Family. Within this focus, she discovered her love for working in substance abuse, finding it to be rewarding when someone can find a new life to live within their sobriety, and particularly enjoys working closely with opiate addicted clients and integrating a holistic approach to their recovery. She has been with Layh & Associates for the past four years and with a community mental health agency for eight years. She has lived in the Yellow Springs community for 27 years with her husband and two children.

Cindy Minton, LISW-S, LICDC-CS

Cindy is a 65-year-old animal lover, clinical social worker, marathon runner, equestrian, and vegetarian. She lives with her fun-loving husband, dog, and kitty. Her horse lives with his buddies close by. Cindy’s social work career includes twenty years of clinical supervision and administration, as well as twenty-five years of therapy in residential and medical offices, with specialties with both mental health and substance abuse, working with adolescents and adults.

Steve Piatt, LISW-S, LICDC-CS

Steve Piatt is a 69-year-old Clinical Social Worker with a graduate degree from the University of Louisville. For over twenty-six years, he has worked in various mental health settings including private practive, community mental health, and both inpatient and outpatient care. Steve has been with Layh & Associates since 1990. He finished forty years of long-distance running in 2016, with a total of sixty-six marathons, and has been a vegetarian since 1970. He lives down a lane on twenty-six acres among corn and soybeans, with two solar arrays and a wind turbine to keep him environmentally happy. He lives with his social worker sweetie, a dog, and a cat.

Renee Pinkelman, M.Ed., LPCC

Renee’s passion is working with people who feel stuck and are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment, irritability, and relationship difficulties.  She is fiercely committed to helping people find their peace. Renee utilizes a variety of therapeutic strategies depending on the individual’s needs, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, as well as support and encouragement. She received her Master’s degree from Ohio University in 1996, and in her career, she has enjoyed many amazing opportunities such as Clinical Director of an Employee Assistance Program, Community Crisis worker, Clinical Director of Counseling Services at Wilmington College, Mental health Liaison for Greene County Juvenile Court, and Director of Residential Services for a facility serving adolescent females.  She has been affiliated with Layh & Associates since February 2014.

Louise Smith, MS Ed., LPCC

Louise is a Clinical Counselor who has been working in [x] for [y] years and earned her degree in 2008 from the University of Dayton. In addition to working in mental health, she has been the Dean of Community Life at Antioch College since 2011 and was the Chair of the Theatre Department for fourteen years. In her spare time, you can catch her writing scripts for the Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse. Louise is new to Layh & Associates, but we are happy to have her with us.
